Child & Babysitting Safety

This program for young people providing babysitting and child care services, stresses the importance of keeping the children they care for, safe. Babysitting is not just “watching” the children, but being responsible for their safety and well being. When one is caring for a child, you are taking care of a parent(s) most prized possession. Everything in the home can be replaced — everything, that is, except a child.

Pet First Aid & CPR

This class for anyone who works with, or cares for, dogs and cats covers the immediate care for an injured or suddenly ill pet until veterinary care is available. Properly applied first aid can save your pet’s life, reduce recovery time and be the difference between temporary disability and lifelong disability. This program concentrates on basic first aid care, including CPR. It is intended to teach the pet owner how to save a pet’s life during an emergency, minimize a pet’s trauma after an injury and safely transport an injured or ill pet to the veterinary clinic.

 Wilderness First Aid

This 8 hour course is for those who work, live or play in remote areas – away from the usual Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Even though the EMS and other emergency workers near these areas may be trained to search for and rescue those in need, there may be a delay in the notification of assistance, the time required to get to the patient, or in moving the patient to more advanced treatment. This class covers assessment and urgent first aid techniques, but not in-depth CPR. Basic first aid skills are covered, making this course appropriate for anyone regardless of experience level.
