Need to Know Training's founder and principal instructor is Peter Pay.  Peter is a Chartered Accountant by profession.  Peter's "day job" is Financial Controller - Americas for a company which produces capital equipment used by electronics manufacturers. 

Peter doesn't play golf or tennis; his hobby is teaching community emergency response classes.  Peter is certified by both American Red Cross and American Safety & Health Institute, two of the country's leading community training organizations.

Prior to moving to the San Francisco Bay area from the UK in 1996 with his wife, Louise and their three children, Peter served for 20 years in the British Army Reserve.  Peter has been teaching CPR and First Aid classes for 9 years.  Peter volunteers with Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.  Prior to joing the Sheriff's Office, Peter volunteered with East Bay Regional Park District's Companion Dog Patrol with Allen (a retired Guide Dog, raised by Peter's wife Louise).

Peter enjoys the outdoors and regularly hikes in Las Trampas Regional Wilderness with Allen. Peter spent a week hiking the back country of Denali National Park, AK in 2005 and another week hiking in the Cascades in WA in 2008. Peter also climbed Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, CA in 2008. Peter hopes to return to Alaska in the near future to visit Katmai National Park.
